Why write about walking to work? Well honestly, it’s often the best part of my day – and never the worst part of my day. So I want to spread the word! Share the joy! And see if there are other foot commuters out there who want to talk about it too.

I started walking to work when there was a TTC strike (remember those?) in the 1990s. I was pissed off about it, I guess… Who needs ’em! I decided to just leave early one morning and put one foot in front of the other until I got there. I didn’t know it at the time, but luckily, it turns out that I live within a reasonable walking distance of downtown Toronto.

Me & walking turned out to be a match made in heaven.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog! My commute usually takes about 50 minutes. Using Google maps I found the distance is 4.4 km. I will be talking more about what is a reasonable walking distance in a coming post – follow me and you’ll be the first to know about it!
